    Matapica Beach

Matapica Beach is located in the eastern part of Suriname, in the area of Kommenveine, often called the turtle beach. It is situated between the Atlantic coast and the marshy estuary of the Suriname and Kommenveine rivers. Matapica Beach is covered with a dense dark beige sand layer. The beach stretches for roughly 45 kilometers, o there’s plenty of space if you’re after a more secluded spot. To get to the beach, take a car from Paramaribo to Marienburg, then take a boat across the canal to Suriname's protected region, which takes approximately an hour. Along the route, you'll see rare birds and caymans.

Matapica has a low population density, which explains why Suriname's infrastructure is lacking. Matapica Beach is a one-of-a-kind beach where turtles weighing at least 400 kg each person can be found. Turtles deposit their eggs in the sand on the beach from April to August. Tourists from all over the world flock to Suriname's island to see the animals and get away from the city's hustle and bustle. The optimal conditions for surfing are frequent ocean winds and large waves.

If you are bored with lazing on the sandy beach, you can ride the canal and explore the nature reserves, where you'll witness rare birds and caymans. It's one of Suriname's most well-known beaches, and you should absolutely add it to your travel itinerary.

    Galibi Beach

Galibi Beach is in an ecotourism-friendly fishing town. It is located along the Marowijne River in the northeastern portion of Suriname. Galibi, with its endless paths and huge palm trees, is the place to go if you want white sand beaches. It’s about 120 km from Paramaribo, which is the capital town, and you can reach it using private vehicles. At the Galibi Nature Reserve, the major attraction is the gigantic turtles.

The large turtles that reside along the Atlantic coast draw the majority of beach visitors. They lay their eggs in the sand of Galibi Beach every year. This is where the world's rarest Bissa turtle may be found. The Galibi Nature Reserve with turtles in the village of Albin is the area's main attraction. Because Galibi lacks the necessary infrastructure for comfortable tourism, the beaches are rarely populated. Galibi Beach is a wonderful location for ecotourism with a dash of local flavor. Braamspunt Beach

The sand on the beach is not cleaned in a central location. The location is not inside the direct easy access zone. There are no roads leading to it. Public transportation is the only way to get there. As a result, additional temporary trips are being organized here.

It's another key turtle habitat, with leatherback and green sea turtles being the most common species to make their homes here. There are other areas near the seaside where you may go dolphin watching.
