Galibi Beach
Galibi Beach is in an ecotourism-friendly fishing town. It is located along the Marowijne River in the northeastern portion of Suriname. Galibi, with its endless paths and huge palm trees, is the place to go if you want white sand beaches. It’s about 120 km from Paramaribo, which is the capital town, and you can reach it using private vehicles. At the Galibi Nature Reserve, the major attraction is the gigantic turtles.
The large turtles that reside along the Atlantic coast draw the majority of beach visitors. They lay their eggs in the sand of Galibi Beach every year. This is where the world's rarest Bissa turtle may be found. The Galibi Nature Reserve with turtles in the village of Albin is the area's main attraction. Because Galibi lacks the necessary infrastructure for comfortable tourism, the beaches are rarely populated. Galibi Beach is a wonderful location for ecotourism with a dash of local flavor. Extreme surfing is made possible by strong ocean winds and large waves.
