Brain Drones

Drones are becoming very popular in warfare and have proven to be quite lethal. A drone flying from the other side of the planet and capable of dropping bombs on any target is something of a nightmare. The only thing that could make it worse is if the person in charge on the other side of the world wasn't present. And it looks like DARPA has been working on this for a while.

The drone operates autonomously and is controlled by a neural chip that is essentially an artificial intelligence robot. Currently, they are all in their infancy and elementary stages, and they are not yet complete with Matrix Sentinels. However, the foundation is already established and the technology will continue to improve. Neural circuits are expected to allow these drones to recognize their surroundings and behave accordingly.

One particularly obnoxious sentence from a 2014 paper indicates that there is hope that the chip will allow drones to experience different levels of safety or to different preferences. While safety and a sense of home is desirable, it also implies that a drone may experience the opposite at some point and may react as a result. defensively. So while no one is promising that the future of war will be emotional drones that know where they are and can react with horror in confrontation, it seems to be the case. the path they are on.
