Bujagali Falls
Bujagali Falls is located along the Nile River, about 10 km from Jinja city. The waterfalls are also located near the so-called Source of the Nile, where a waterfall known as Rippon Falls used to exist before the Owen Falls Dam flooded it. It is famous for its scenery and whitewater rafting. The falls also offer opportunities for birdwatching, tubing on the Nile, rafting, canoeing, and kayaking among other activities, but less activity takes place here due to the dam. Bujagali Waterfall is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Uganda.
Bujagali Falls are found in Jinja and they flow through the Nike River, the longest river in the world. The falls are where the dam was built to start generating electricity in Uganda and the two combined are a great way for one to spend their weekend with amazing scenery. Bujagali Falls is extremely beautiful and turbulent because there are a series of large rapids that make many visitors excited. Whitewater rafting remains the most popular adventure activity, and other activities here include sport fishing, bungee jumping, the Nile Adventure Safari, and horseback riding. A trip to this waterfall will bring relaxation and visitors can discover many species of birds and a special species of lizard swimming in the water.
