Burgau Wreck

Burgau ranks 3rd on the list of the best dive sites in Portugal. It is a shipwreck in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The ship sank in the 1980s while hauling building materials, including stone. The skipper made an attempt to reach the beach before the ship sank, but was unable to do so in time. The wreck is located in shallow water, making it ideal for not just diving but also snorkeling for a fantastic day out. The ship is 30 meters long and 5 meters broad, making it an ideal wreck diving experience for beginners. Cuttlefish, Octopus, Spider Crabs, schools of John Dory, and Moray Eels are among the spectacular aquatic life that surrounds this ruin.

The biggest selling point of this place is the fact that it is not crowded. Nonetheless, it has amazing underwater beauty, so make sure to include this on your list. In Burgau Wreck, there are plenty of rock formations that you can see under the water, including overhangs, walls, caves, and canyons, among others. Conger eels and rays are commonly spotted by divers in the area. However, in most cases, the maximum depth is only 15 meters, which might not make it a good spot for advanced divers.
