Porto Santo
Porto Santo is one of the best dive sites in Portugal. With more stable meteorology and hotter waters than in the Azores, the Archipelago of Madeira can offer equally good visibility and nice shades of blue. However, it also requires a plane ride to get to. The islands of Madeira and Porto Santo enable nice immersions mostly all year.
This mid-to-advanced diving area is known as one of the richest marine environments in the world. Divers come here expecting to see hundreds of species of fish, coral as well as larger sea creatures such as turtles, sharks, and manta rays. The most special feature that makes this diving site so attractive is the "turtle tomb" area, an underwater cave where many turtles have lost their bodies and left their bodies here. Porto Santo also has many marine reefs that surround the island and are located close to the shore, home to a wide variety of pigmented, enchanting marine life for tourists to enjoy scuba diving. As for passengers who are not good at swimming, it is still convenient to scuba dive to see marine life here, just need glasses and a snorkel.
