Cafe Renaissance

Cafe Renaissance has been providing the metropolitan region with an intimate and delightful dining experience in the Parisian style since 1994. Owner Saeed Abtahi and his culinary staff are fine dining veterans who devote their decades of experience to preserving an ancient art form. You are not a customer here; you are a friend, and it is their pleasure to share their love of cuisine and service with you.

The Renaissance Café is housed in the old Assaria High School, a unique, elegant restaurant that was built in the early twentieth century. With tables set around the sunken gymnasium floor, piled bookcases filling the corners, and old-fashioned posters, pictures, and portraits of the past presidents adorning the walls, it nevertheless preserves many nostalgic connections to its former life. The menu, which focuses on northern Italian cuisine, deviates from usual cafeteria fare; standouts include the gorgonzola salad with walnuts and dried cranberries, and the steak Fiorentina, which is marinated in olive oil, garlic, and herbs before being chargrilled to perfection.
