Public at the Brickyard

Public is a farm-to-table eatery that caters to the entire family! They first opened its doors for dinner service in 2012, adjacent to Brickyard, Old Town's leading outdoor music venue, with the purpose of delivering fresh and regionally sustainable products to produce their perspective on local cuisine flavors. They were able to do so by collaborating with a variety of local merchants and creating an eclectic menu that blended the old and the new. Their first menu was heavily influenced by the nostalgia linked with their historic building and Travis' childhood memories of growing up in that area, as well as the culinary impact of contemporary trends originating in St. Louis at the time. Public has something for everyone, from their globally known food to their laid-back atmosphere!


Public at the Brickyard, a true local treasure, emphasizes a farm-to-table approach to its meals, sourcing local produce and collaborating closely with farmers and brewers to ensure the best quality ingredients and products are available on the menu. The end product is a delectable eating experience that reflects the region's specialties as well as Kansan cuisine. The Wichita wings, which are marinated and fried in a special house BBQ sauce, and the prairie sliders, which are created with bison meat, cheddar cheese, sweet onion marmalade, and a mustard aioli, are also worth trying. Choose from one of the many distinctive microbrews available, such as the River City Brewing Co. and the Hopping Gnome Brewery, both situated in Wichita.
