Carnival

Carnival is the most famous festival in Sint Maarten, considered a high-energy, vibrant, and colorful celebration in a tropical paradise. This famous festival runs for three weeks, starting in mid-April and ending on the first weekend of May. Festivals are held on both sides of Sint Maarten, although on the Dutch side the big parade takes place in the capital, where people dressed in brightly colored Caribbean costumes dance in the streets to the sounds of soca and calyx music.

The Carnival in Sint Maarten is like a mix of New Year's fun, formal parades, and lots of loud calypsoes, soca, and steelpan band music together. While Trinidad Carnival is the largest and most popular in the area, Sint Marten Carnival has the longest festival season and is growing in popularity year after year. This most famous festival in Sint Maarten is like a party of the West Indies block where everyone gets together and has the time of his life. The famous Carnival is the biggest event of the year and one of the island's biggest attractions.
