Regatta

The Regatta is Sint Maarten's most famous festival for enthusiasts of thrilling sailing races, also known as the Heineken Regatta. This is a 3-day regatta held every March. The first day sees a race around the island, and then there are specially designed courses on the second and third days. At the end of each race, the day ends with a celebratory party. The event attracts sailors from around the world to compete.

The Regatta carries the reputation of "Serious pleasure" because its fans gather in a unique place where good beer never runs out for a whole week. The biggest names in sailing are always on the scene, and more than three hundred boats compete in a fun atmosphere. During this most famous festival of Sint Maarten, residents and visitors can see dozens of boats every time they look at the sea.
