Cathedral of the Saint John the Divine
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine (sometimes referred to as St. John's and also nicknamed St. John the Unfinished) is the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. It is at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, between West 110th Street (also known as Cathedral Parkway) and West 113th Street.
This Church is spread across an interior area of 11241 square meters. It is the biggest Anglican church in the world and is located in New York City. Its height is 183.2 meters. The construction of the church started in 1892. Two renowned African architects, Christopher Grant Lafarge and George Heins were responsible for the church's design. The construction process lasted more than 20 years. The 162-foot-tall dome spans the church. At the church's entryway, there is a picture of Saint John seeing Jesus Christ be transfigured. Some well-known Bible verses may be inscribed on the walls.
