Chester Zoo, located in Cheshire, England, is one of the largest zoos in the world. Occupying 125 acres and discovered in 1931 by the George Mottershead family, it is one of the largest in England. The total area of the zoo is approximately 160 hectares (400 acres).
Chester Zoo is the world's largest zoo in terms of animal water level, with over 21,000 animals of more than 500 species. You can also find some of the rarest and most endangered animals. Good things to do include boat trips on the Lazy River, dining at restaurants, picnicking at various locations, and monorail rides.
