Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology
Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology is the successor to the former Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Chittagong, abbreviated as BIT Chittagong (CUET). It is one of the most renowned and prestigious autonomous self-degree-awarding institutes in Bangladeshi engineering education. This Institute sprang out of the Chittagong Engineering College, which was founded in 1968.
The Chittagong Engineering College served as the University of Chittagong's Faculty of Engineering. The college was turned into an Institute of Technology in 1986 as a result of a government decree. This institute of technology was transformed into a public university in 2003.
The Chancellor of the University is the Honorable President of Bangladesh. The policy-making and administrative authority is exercised by a Board of Governors led by a Chairman selected by the President.
