Communication problems
This can happen in a variety of ways, such as being too talkative and having difficulty maintaining conversations. You may not always be the best listener, shifting topics frequently. In social situations, you may find it difficult to tune in to others, especially if there is a lot going on around you to distract you.
Listening comprehension can be impaired in ADHD, particularly when dealing with rapidly spoken language or managing distracting, noisy circumstances such as a party or a crowded classroom. When listening, they may lose track of conversational threads totally or overlook specifics, causing them to miss important details. When a request looks to be purposely ignored rather than not being heard in the first place, these same gaps typically come across as oppositional behavior. These patterns are also linked to the reading comprehension issues that are common in people with ADHD.
