Create a keepsake box with pressed flowers

This is a fantastic suggestion for things to do with the kids! Over the Easter break, getting the kids involved in an outdoor art project is a terrific way to get them outside and enjoying the sunshine.

You will need the cardboard box, paper, several large books, new-cut flowers, the glue stick, gloss, felt tips, and paint and for further embellishment, collage whatever things you choose.

Now comes the step of making a box filled with pressed flowers just for you and your child. First and foremost, you need to collect some recent-cut flowers. To keep the pages clean, open a thick book and place paper over both of them. Then, place a flower atop one of the papers so that when the book is closed, the other one will cover the bloom. You can put numerous pages in one book, but be sure to only put one flower in between each sheet. Close the book and add other books to make it sustained. The remaining blooms should be treated similarly and left for roughly two weeks.

Next, you can begin the decorations. Each child will receive a cardboard box (shoe boxes work well), and you can ask them to decorate the background with paint or any other craft supplies you may have at home. After pressing the flowers, carefully remove them from the books and adhere them to the box with glue. Put the adhesive on the box itself and not the flower, please. After the flowers have been adhered, allow them to dry, and they will have the ideal homemade keepsake box for preserving items that reminds them of important moments.
