Fruit picking

Visit your local strawberry picking farm starting in late May or go apple picking starting in August for a cheap and enjoyable activity to keep the kids occupied during the summer, along with other seasonal fruits. Fruit picking is a fun outdoor activity for families to do in the late Summer. Nothing better than working in the sunshine, taking in the clean rural air, and capping off the day by consuming the results of your labor, right? And getting youngsters to eat their five pieces of fruit and vegetables is one of the best things you can do for them. Teach kids how to make fruit cakes, pudding, and even jam once they've collected their fruits. Make the most of your day by packing a picnic; many of the locations offer a variety of additional activities, such as culinary workshops and tractor and pony rides.

For you little ones, many farms that conduct "choose your own" events also have farm shops, cafes, and play spaces. Additionally, you may educate your children about how fruits and vegetables grow and learn about conservation. Not to mention that it's reasonably priced, with free access offered by the majority of farms and a "pay for what you pick" philosophy. It's a fantastic interactive activity that you can really sink your teeth into, and farms need your assistance as fruit season draws near!
