This Diamante is so rare that only one will be made each year. That makes this pen become one of the most expensive pens. Aurora Pens claims it is the world's only over 30-carat pen, making it one of the most valuable.

The barrel of the Aurora Diamante is entirely constructed of platinum, two hectograms to be exact. Platinum is a precious metal, and because it is priced according to its weight, two hectograms equal two hundred grams, which is a substantial weight and hence the price. Furthermore, because platinum is not mined as extensively as other precious metals, it is guaranteed to be more expensive than the others.
