Do a Thyroid Neck Check
Detecting a thyroid issue can be done by a thyroid neck check. A thyroid swallowing test is a self-exam of your thyroid gland. It's also called a neck check. You can do the thyroid swallowing test at home to check for lumps or enlargements on your own thyroid gland.
The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped organ located in the lower front of the neck. If the lumps and swelling are near the surface, this simple test can find them. However, keep in mind that a lot of nodules cannot be seen or felt. See your doctor if you experience any other symptoms. You may conduct this simple screening in front of a mirror at home. Be sure to adhere to instructions. Consult your doctor if you experience or notice anything unusual.
