Doshisha International School, Kyoto (DISK) is part of the Doshisha family of schools. It was established in 2011 and is located in Kizugawa city as a member of the Doshisha International Academy (DIA).
DISK is a school for students in grades 6 to 12. They offer an international curriculum in English that caters to the needs of the internationally-minded community in the Kansai area. Doshisha International Academy (DIA) is a unique concept in Japan, where two schools, DISK and DIA ES (Elementary School), coexist in the same building. They are guided by the same educational philosophy.
DISK has received international accreditation from the prestigious International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). They obtained authorization for the IBO Diploma Program (DP) in 2011 and the IBO Primary Years Program (PYP) in 2014. Their middle school curriculum follows the framework of the IBO Middle Years Program (MYP).
As an IBO World School, DISK is dedicated to nurturing internationally-minded individuals who understand our shared humanity. They encourage their students to take care of the planet and work towards creating a better and more peaceful world.
At DISK, they follow the IB learner profile, which includes a wide range of qualities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They believe that these attributes, along with others, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of their local, national, and global communities.
