Dream High (2011)
Dream High is a South Korean television series that premiered in 2011 and starred Bae Suzy, Ok Taecyeon, Kim Soo-hyun, Ham Eun-jung, Jang Woo-young, and IU. It aired on KBS2 for 16 episodes from January 3 to February 28, 2011, at 22:00 (KST) on Mondays and Tuesdays. During its two-month run, the drama was popular with youngsters, with an average viewership rating of 15.7%. On March 1, 2011, the day after the series concluded, a special episode aired in which the cast of the program performed the Dream High Special Concert on a stage in Seoul.
Kirin High School is a unique institution where aspiring actors and K-Pop stars receive training from industry veterans and specialists. Kim Pil Sook, played by IU, is a shy and overweight girl who is discouraged from pursuing music and performance due to her appearance. Her character has excellent pitch, and with enough encouragement from Jason (Jang Wooyoung of 2 PM), she ultimately comes out of her shell with confidence. You'll also see former Miss A member Bae Suzy, Ok Taecyeon from 2 PM, Ham Eun Jung of T-ARA, and actor Kim Soo Hyun in this drama. Park Jin Young, CEO of JYP Entertainment, also appears as a teacher in Dream High!
