Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President/Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, owns the yacht Dubai.
Dubai - one of the most expensive yachts, was built in collaboration with the German shipyards Blohm + Voss and Lürssen and commissioned in 1995 under several project names (Panhandle, Platinum, Golden Star). The yacht was supposed to be built for Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei in 1996, but the customer canceled the order the following year. She was sold to Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the current owner, in 2001.
A helipad with a maximum payload of 9.5 tons, two 10 m long motor boats, a dining room for 90 people, and a 10 m swimming pool are among the amenities. A nightclub, a movie, 20 water bikes, a submarine, a lobster tank, and a squash court are all available on the yacht. Dubai has eight decks and can accommodate up to 88 crew members and 115 passengers.
