École des Ponts ParisTech
École des Ponts ParisTech is a university-level higher education and research institution in science, engineering, and technology. Daniel-Charles Trudaine founded it in 1747, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious French Grandes Écoles.
Historically, the primary mission of the school was to train engineering officials and civil engineers, but it now offers a broad education in computer science, applied mathematics, civil engineering, mechanics, finance, economics, innovation, urban studies, environment, and transport engineering. École des Ponts is now primarily international: 43 percent of its students pursue a double degree abroad, and 30 percent of engineering science program students are international. École des Ponts is one of the best universities in France for international students, offering world-class teaching facilities and research laboratories from undergraduate to master's degrees and PhDs. The university maintains close ties with French and international institutions such as Georgia Tech and Berkeley.
