Excellence El Carmen

The Excellence El Carmen, a sister resort to the Excellence Punta Cana, is a luxury adults-only resort with incredible suites, including top-floor options with private rooftop terraces and plunge pools. The Imperial Suite, in particular, receives luxurious upgrades; however, Excellence Club upgrades are also worthwhile. These include private lounge and restaurant areas, as well as rooms that are even more cutting-edge than the rest. The resort's vibe is young and hip, but the Uvero Alto location in Punta Cana is more laid-back than the more central parts of this strip.

All rates include meals at 13 restaurants (including a taco truck, French fine dining, and a fresh juice bar), 24-hour room service, and access to activities such as snorkeling, yoga, and archery. The full-service spa has additional fees, but the ultra-luxe guided thermal suite experience is free, and there are also free personal training sessions at the gym.
