Faculty of Management Studies – University of Delhi
The Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi is a prestigious business school in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 1954 under the auspices of the University of Delhi and is widely regarded as one of India's top business schools. The institute was founded on the campus of the Delhi School of Economics by Dean A. Dasgupta of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE). The Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), now known as the Delhi Technological University (DTU), abolished its department of commerce and established the Faculty of Management Studies. The first group of professors received their education at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Since then, the institute has increased the number of management courses it offers.
Admission to the course is based on the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) administered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The maximum number of seats for the Doctoral program is 20. Candidates must take the entrance exam, which is held every year from November to December. Candidates in certain categories, however, are exempt from taking this entrance exam. The MBA Executive program has 159 students enrolled, while the MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) program has 39 students enrolled. For full-time students, the admission process has recently been modified so that the CAT weightage is 60%, with the remaining 40% reserved for past academic records, group discussions, extempore, and personal interviews.
