Indian Institute of Management Shillong
The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong or IIM-S) is a public business school in Shillong, Meghalaya. It was the seventh Indian Institute of Management to open its doors in the country. IIM Shillong, founded in 2007, offers postgraduate, doctoral, and executive programs in management education, as well as Management Development Programmes in a variety of management fields. Admission to the institute is determined by the results of the Common Admission Test, as well as the group discussion and personal interview rounds. Furthermore, the institute has a Centre for Development of the North Eastern Region, which was established to provide programs relevant to the local community and society of the state and region.
IIM Shillong is a student-run institute, with participants in charge of the institute's day-to-day operations outside of academics and administration. This is done to give participants hands-on experience in day-to-day management, problem-solving, and event management. Student committees are in charge of day-to-day operations such as placements, hostel, and IT requirements, student affairs, and so on. Clubs are societies dedicated to various areas of management and other interests. They are also crucial in determining the electives available in various domains.
