Festival of du Rai d’Oran

Festival of du Rai d’Oran is intended to honor the hard work of musicians by bringing together a large number of musicians as well as performances by great composers to bring the day to a close with a lot of good music.

Rai d'Oran is an annual festival conducted in August to honor the popular Algerian music genre of rai. This music genre, which first arose in the 1930s, is a sort of folk music that originated from Bedouin shepherds in the cities of Oran and An Témouchent, and was fused with Spanish, French, and Arabic sounds.
