The main goal of this course, which has a legal foundation but, as you will see from the start, combines so many different subject areas that it can be called multi-disciplinary, is to gain an understanding of how political power is organized in our democracies and what the resulting forms of government structure are.
The course examines how various types of governance are organized, as well as their functional logic and evolution. Every constitutional system, every political community, has its own form of government and political institutions, which may be classed by type since, despite the many variations, they are all founded on a few fundamental patterns. The course examines the origins of these fundamental models as well as their primary characteristics, taking recent developments into account in order to make conclusions about the present and future, all while keeping the constitution in mind.
Learners get the opportunity to study the finest of politics as well as other areas such as institutional and political history and cultural anthropology during the lectures.
