Fox and Krystal (Star Fox)
Star Fox Adventures is a 2002 action-adventure game published by Nintendo and developed by Rare. Beginning in 1997, the game had a lengthy development cycle. Originally conceived as Dinosaur Planet, featuring Rare-created heroes, Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto persuaded Rare to rework the game as part of the Star Fox brand. Its original release on the Nintendo 64 was scrapped, and development was eventually pushed ahead one hardware generation to the GameCube. Star Fox first appeared on the Gamecube in the Action-Adventure title Star Fox Adventures.
Krystal of the planet Cerenia makes her debut appearance in this game when she is rescued and eventually joins the Star Fox crew. She returned in Star Fox: Assault and Star Fox: Command before disappearing from the series with the relaunched game Star Fox: Zero. Given the concept of Command, Krystal's abduction could not have arrived at a worse moment. Despite their shared passion, Fox expelled Krystal for her own safety, prompting her to join the Star Wolf squad instead. With Command's branching plot and Zero's poor rating on sites like Metacritic, the future of the Star Fox franchise and Krystal's relationship with Fox is unknown.
