German Channel

Much of the sightseeing on Palau's islands takes place underwater, and diving in the German Channel is the ideal way to have a spectacular underwater trip. The German Channel is a man-made diving spot in Palau that was created in the early twentieth century when Germans dug a channel between two barrier reefs to mine phosphates. The profusion of unusual fish and other marine fauna and flora makes diving in the German Channel an unforgettable experience. Manta rays and gorgeous corals are among the most common sights for visitors.

German Channel in Palau is a dive destination suitable for divers of all ages and experience levels, as well as a fantastic opportunity for underwater photographers to get high-quality images and footage of Manta Rays. In addition, eagle rays, a slew of grey reef sharks, white tip sharks, and large schools of fish can all be found. Between November and May is the optimum time to dive the German Channel. The typical water temperature is roughly 27 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit).
