Gintama
"Gintama" is one of the best animes by Sunrise Studio even to this day, earning lots of favorable feedback from anime lovers and critics alike.
In "Gintama," the vibrant city of Edo was once the hub of samurai ambition and tenacity, a bastion of dreams for warriors across Japan. However, the landscape of Edo took a drastic turn after the nation's surrender to dangerous, extraterrestrial beings known as the "Amanto." These conquerors swiftly quashed the once-unshakable aspirations of the samurai, reshaping the political landscape and replacing the revered shogunate with a subservient government, which imposed a sweeping law that banned swords from public view.
In this altered world, Gintoki Sakata emerges. Sporting his trademark silver hair and armed with a wooden sword, Gintoki continues to uphold the code of the samurai, even in the face of the sword prohibition. He is the founder of Yorozuya, a small enterprise that handles a wide array of odd jobs, often embarking on unique and unconventional quests to assist those in need.
Alongside Gintoki are Shinpachi Shimura, a young man sporting glasses who aspires to become a samurai, and Kagura, a spirited, superhuman girl with immense strength and an insatiable appetite. Together, with their colossal pet dog, Sadaharu, who has a penchant for head-biting, the Yorozuya crew navigates a constantly changing Edo and encounters numerous challenges, from interactions with extraterrestrial royalty to skirmishes with local gangs.
