Givenchy
Givenchy is a French luxury fashion and perfume house. It hosts the brand of haute couture clothing, accessories, and Parfums Givenchy, perfumes, cosmetics. The house of Givenchy was founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy. It is owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH. From 2 May 2017 until 10 April 2020, its artistic director was Clare Waight Keller, the first woman to hold that position. On 15 June 2020, Givenchy announced that Matthew M. Williams was the Creative Director of the House.
Givenchy's designs under Hubert de Givenchy pursue a feminine, elegant style and embody the beauty of the era. Givenchy not only owns loyal customers but also creates pieces that carry the brand's heritage. In 1954, Givenchy launched its first collection called Givenchy Pret-à-Porter. But it was not until 1973 that Givenchy entered the field of menswear design with the launch of the "Gentleman Givenchy" line. Currently, the Givenchy Collection Pret-à-Porter includes clothing designed for both men and women and accompanying fashion accessories such as shoes, bags, watches, belts, etc.
In 1995, when Hubert de Givenchy retired, Givenchy became part of LVMH and was gradually disoriented under the direction of Galliano and Alexander McQueen. But fortunately, when Riccardo Tisci was appointed to the position of creative director, he found the soul of Givenchy and also redefined the luxury value. Riccardo Tisci is extremely perfectionist in his designs, and he also limits the number of designs and guests at the shows along with the solicitation of special materials and the complexity of cutting techniques.
