Gone with the wind
"Gone with the Wind" - more than 80 years the wind still blows, is a film directed by Victor Fleming based on the plot of the same name by famous female author Margarett Mitchell. The content revolves around Scarlett O'Hara - who tries to survive the storm of the Civil War and rebuild America. Scarlett O'Hara coincidentally met a careless attitude "player man" Rhett Butler.
Scarlett is different from all the beauties known in life or literature. She is not holy, not weak, not dependent or passive. Scarlett is stubborn, callous, and full of energy. She is not afraid to rise up to get what she needs, even if it means stepping on others. Once Scarlett has made up her mind, even if there are demons blocking the way, she will do it. Scarlett falls in love with Ashley (Leslie Howard), a strange aristocrat with many ideals, but he marries his gentle cousin Melanie (Olivia de Havilland). Scarlett does not give up, still finds ways to pursue Ashley, but gradually she becomes entangled in a fateful love affair with Rhett Butler (Clark Gable), a careless but sincere player.
"Gone with the Wind" became a symbol for a classic work forever later and was voted by the American Film Institute as the top 100 best works of all time. The film also set a record when it won 8/13 Oscar nominations for prestigious categories such as "Best Picture", "Best Director", "Best Adapted Screenplay", "Best Actress" Best Actress”, “Best Supporting Actress”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Film Editing”, and “Best Art Director”
