Pride & Prejudice
The film "Pride and Prejudice" with English title: Pride & Prejudice is adapted from the famous novel of the same name by female writer Jane Austen. It is arguably her most famous novel. A production that has been a resounding success through many versions, whether in the literary aspect such as books or adapted into plays and films also has its own unique imprints.
The story is about the love and marriage of a small aristocracy in England in the early 19th century. The main character is Elizabeth Bennet, a 20-year-old girl from middle-class family background. The title is about the pride and prejudices of one character towards another. The film focuses on the stubborn behavior of intelligent, beautiful Elizabeth Bennet living in the Hertfordshire countryside with the proud, cool Darcy, a wealthy landowner from Pemberley in Derbyshire. And after the strict prejudices, they had for each other, then when they learned what Darcy had done for her, the relationship between the two had changed. Pride & Prejudice also scored with the audience thanks to the beautiful and dreamy English countryside setting. The audience will be ecstatic to admire the ancient castles, the forests shining in the sun, the early mornings, the grass-covered with dew, or the scene of swans flying, flapping their wings on the lake surface.
With the success of the film, it received prestigious awards such as nominations: "Academy Award for Best Actress", "BAFTA Award for British director, screenwriter, producer with debut work", "Satellite Award for Best Costume Design".
