Greg Norman
Gregory John Norman AO (born 10 February 1955) is an Australian entrepreneur and former professional golfer who held the world No. 1 Official World Golf Rankings position for 331 weeks throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He won 89 professional events, including 20 on the PGA Tour and two majors, the 1986 and 1993 Open Championships. Norman also finished in the top ten thirty times in majors and was the runner-up eight times. In 2001, he received the greatest proportion of votes (80 percent) of any player ever elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Norman's foray into business began during his playing days. He is the chairman and CEO of the Greg Norman Company, a worldwide conglomerate with businesses in fashion, interior design, real estate, wine production, private equity, and golf course design, among others. He was chosen CEO of LIV Golf Investments in 2021, a start-up backed by Saudi Arabia's national wealth fund that aims to compete with the PGA Tour.
