Rory Mcilroy
Rory McIlroy (born 4 May 1989) is a Northern Irish professional golfer who competes on both the European and PGA Tours. He was the world number one for more than 100 weeks during his career, according to the Official World Golf Ranking. He is a four-time major winner, having won the US Open in 2011, the PGA Championship in 2012, the Open Championship in 2014, and the PGA Championship in 2014. He is one of just three players, along with Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, to have won four majors by the age of 25.
McIlroy had a stellar amateur career as a 17-year-old, leading the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a week in 2007. He became professional later that year and quickly established himself on the European Tour. In 2009, he won on the European Tour, and in 2010, he won on the PGA Tour. He became the youngest player on the European Tour to collect €10 million in career earnings when he was 22 years old in 2011. He became the youngest player on the PGA Tour to earn $10 million in his career in 2012.
