Henry Cavill
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill, a British actor. He is well-known for his roles as Geralt of Rivia from the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher and Superman from the DC Extended Universe.
Cavill was born in Saint Helier, Jersey in the Channel Islands in 1983, the fourth of five sons in a Roman Catholic family. His mother, Marianne Dalgliesh, who was born in Jersey, is of Scottish, English, and Irish descent and worked as a bank secretary. His father, Colin Cavill, is a former stockbroker who was born in Chester, England. Prior to enrolling at Stowe School in Stowe, Buckinghamshire, he received his education at St. Michael's Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey.
Cavill's first acting roles was in the feature films adaptations of The Count of Monte Cristo and I Capture the Castle. Later, he appeared briefly in a number of television programs, including The Tudors on Showtime, Midsomer Murders on ITV, and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries on the BBC. Since then, he has been in other noteworthy Hollywood productions, including Tristan & Isolde, Stardust, Blood Creek, and Immortals.
Critics lauded Cavill for his depiction of Superman in the DC Extended Universe superhero films Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. In the action spy films The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Mission: Impossible - Fallout, he played the lead role.
