Hestia

Hestia, also known as the goddess of the hearth in ancient Greek mythology, was the oldest of the original three Olympian brothers, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Hestia is said to have been one of the three virgin goddesses, the other two being Athena and Artemis, who existed in the mythology of ancient Greece. She was the object of Poseidon and Apollo's constant pursuit since they both want to wed her. She never married a man nevertheless because she upheld the vow she had made to Zeus that she would always be pure and undefiled.

Hestia represented the ambiance of a home that is warmed by a roaring fire in the hearth. The majority of ancient Greeks thought of her as the heavenly embodiment of calm in everyday family life. Her popularity never fully took off, however, as evidenced by historical and archaeological data. It is even said that she was demoted to make room for Dionysus in the pantheon of Olympian deities. Since Vesta stood for the unity of the Roman colonies and the great cities, she was in many respects considerably more significant than her Greek counterpart.
