Leto

Leto was one of Zeus's early lovers and, some would claim, his favorite. Leto married Zeus and later transformed into a goddess. Leto is revered as the goddess of fertility, humility, protection, meekness, motherhood, and compassion. She is considered a kind and gentle creature. She is far better renowned for the difficult years she spent as a mother. Before Zeus married Hera, Leto had already given birth to Zeus's offspring, proving their intense love for one another. Zeus's wife, Hera, detested Leto just as much as she detested all the ladies he cherished. When Hera discovered that Leto was pregnant, she cursed Leto, preventing her from giving birth on terra firma. Then Hera dispatched the terrified earth snake Python, one of Gaia's numerous children, to murder Leto and the unborn children.

Leto eventually gave birth to Artemis and Apollo, the gods. Leto had reclaimed her lost prestige as a result of having two such strong gods as her offspring, and both Artemis and Apollo elevated their standing in Greek mythology. Despite the difficulties she faced, her cult expanded as she and her kids moved from place to place. Leto never had an extramarital relationship after she wed Zeus, in contrast to the other gods and goddesses who inhabited Olympus. Leto was more devoted than the combined spouses of all the other Greek gods and goddesses. Furthermore, unlike Hera and the other Greek goddesses, Leto didn't aim for dominance or power. Leto tended not to speak up or draw attention to herself, preferring to keep her head down.

Leto is more tolerant than most other gods, never venting her anger on Hera, Python, or the giants of Tityos for all the wrongdoings they have committed against her. Leto is a goddess who always chooses the right path, always chooses to turn the other cheek, and always lets things go. Whatever someone does to her, she always accepts it. She is really bashful, constantly meek, and speaks with a quiet voice. Leto is usually cool-headed and collected. She is also kind and outgoing with everyone she encounters. She is a goddess who prioritizes the safety of others before her own. She is a peace lover and peacemaker. In the end, she was able to establish herself as a humble, maternal, and revered character in Greek mythology.
