Himarë Beach
Himare is one of Albania's most beautiful and spectacular beaches, with some of the best beach weather in the country. The weather is warm all year, the sun shines brightly, and long stretches of soft white sand seem to stretch on forever. With the azure sky, deep turquoise sea, and unequaled lively beach vibe, there's a true sense of timeless beauty here. Pine groves and rows of olive trees are a common sight in the Mediterranean, and they can be seen in abundance along the beach's perimeter.
The main beach of Himare is located on the outskirts of a thriving tourist town. Enjoy everything from neon nightclubs to hillside cafés to seafood restaurants while watching sailing and fishing vessels come and go from the picturesque harbor.
Porto Palermo Castle is a nearby early 19th-century fortification with a star fort, lighthouse, and other well-preserved specimens of the period's architecture. The location, however, has a much longer history; an ancient Greek town once stood on the site, and the Ottomans arrived in the mid-seventeenth century. Himare, as a result, is a unique fusion of Greek, Albanian, and Turkish culture.
Himare Beach, like the rest of the Himare area, has a laid-back vibe, making it one of the best places in the Southern Mediterranean to relax and soak up some sun.
