Gjipe Beach is located on the same strip of Albanian coastline as some of the Riviera's most popular and highly rated beaches. The beach at Gjipe, which is located between the tourist beaches of Drymades and Himara, has been untouched by development. The beach here is hidden by the steep landscape at the end of the Gjipe Canyon, an amazing natural feature with rock formations that reach up to 70 meters in height in certain spots. You can climb a few of kilometers up the canyon if you want to, although it is rather difficult. It takes a little effort to get to the beach, which helps to keep the beach relatively calm even in the height of summer.

Gjipe, like other beaches along the Albanian Riviera, offers warm, crystal-clear azure water and fine white pebbles on the beach. Dhrmi Beach is regularly alluded to as Albania's best beach - and it's hard to argue with that considering it's where Albaninian prime leaders are said to vacation! It's easy to understand why. The settlement is nestled in a small cove and clings to the high sloping cliffs that rise up from the beach. The beach is just what you'd expect from the Ionian coast. The water is warm, clean, and a brilliant turquoise color, making it ideal for a refreshing swim or snorkeling. The fact that the beach is made entirely of fine pebbles rather than sand only adds to the attractiveness, since their near-white contrasts with the sea's blue.

Given all of this praise, it's no surprise that the beach gets extremely crowded throughout the summer. With a variety of oceanfront fish eateries and numerous bars, visitors are adequately catered for. Even in the summer, it is usually simple to find a quiet area further up this 1 kilometer long beach. Out of season, the crowds clear out quickly, and you'll have your pick of spots to lay your towel and listen to the gentle lapping of the surf on the beach.

Grama Bay is a small but gorgeous cove on Albania's Ionian Sea coast, nearly completely enclosed by high, rocky cliffs. This semi-secret tiny beach is one of the great treasures of the Albanian coast. If you make it here, you won't be disappointed, the crystal blue turquoise ocean beats anything Greece has, the color is enhanced by the white of the beach and cliffs before giving way to the green of the vegetation.

The bay is surrounded by two national parks: the highland Llogara National Park and the marine park Karaburun-Sazan. Not only will the surrounding scenery be preserved in the future, but the area will also become a haven for wildlife, including one of the world's rarest seal species, the Mediterranean monk seal.

However, there are no roads near Gama Bay, and the closest you can go by automobile is many kilometers distant, via mountainous and desolate terrain - something for the adventurous. The most obvious method to get here is by boat, and you'll almost certainly have the cove to yourself.
