History’s Strongest Disciple: Kenichi

Syun Matsuena's "History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi" is a Japanese martial arts manga series written and illustrated by him. From 2002 to 2014, the series was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine and collected into 61 tankbon volumes. The plot revolves around Kenichi Shirahama, a weak and timid high school student. His classmates constantly bully him, but one day he meets Miu Furinji, a new transfer student, who introduces him to the world of martial arts. Kenichi then begins his martial arts training at the Ryzanpaku dojo, where he is taught by a group of skilled martial artists, each with their own distinct fighting style.


Throughout the series, Kenichi engages in martial arts battles with various opponents while also learning important life lessons about courage, perseverance, and the true meaning of strength. As he gains strength and confidence, he confronts the bullies who used to torment him and even takes on powerful criminal organizations and other martial arts schools. The manga series "History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi" is known for its action-packed fight scenes, humorous moments, and exploration of themes such as friendship, honor, and self-improvement. The series has spawned an anime series as well as a video game.
