Hit the Slopes on Christmas Day in Tignes, France
Tignes offers holiday skiing in luxury and is a high-altitude ski resort close to the Italian border. A Father Christmas parade, Christmas lights everywhere, and a special night torchlight descent, where ESF instructors and students snake down the mountain with wonderful flickering lights, are some of the festive activities that the resort puts on throughout the entire month of December. Santa also makes an appearance during these festivities.
The resort's name comes from the village of Tignes Le Lac, which also holds Christmas markets where wooden toys and handcrafted decorations are sold. Additionally, there are outdoor ice rinks, upscale restaurants, and breathtaking views from the Grande Motte glacier. Tignes Le Lac, located 2,100 meters above sea level, will undoubtedly see snow on Christmas (at least on the ground).
