Walk the Snowy Mountains of Bregenzerwald, Austria

The Bregenz Forest is beautiful all year round, but when the colder months, it turns into a winter wonderland. This beautiful location offers over 300 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, 72 marked snowshoe trails, and signposted winter hiking trails.

With 30 kilometers of cross-country and 50 kilometers of classic mountain skiing trails and a top elevation of 1,040 meters, the Hittisau cross-country ski area is especially beautiful. The majority of the trails welcome dogs. When the moon is full, a number of local groups hold nighttime snowshoeing trips. Outfitted with headlamps or a soft flashlight, the excursions lead tourists through deep snow, where the forested landscape appears magnificent and mystical.
