See the Northern Lights in Tromsø, Norway
Tromsø, which is more than 300 km north of the Arctic Circle, has an erratic snowfall pattern, with some winters seeing subarctic conditions and chilly winds and others featuring milder temperatures. In either case, Tromso will have thick winter snow.
The greatest time to see the northern lights is during the dead of winter, though they can show up anywhere between September and April. The best views are available from the top of the mountain if you take the Fjellheisen cable car while in town, but you'll get greater views if you take a trip outside of the city to avoid light pollution. It's recommended to visit during the polar night period, which lasts 48 days between November and January and is when there are the most chances of seeing the northern lights, as they can show at any hour of the day.
