Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a 2021 South Korean television series starring Shin Min-a, Kim Seon-ho, and Lee Sang-yi. Mr. Handy, Mr. Hong is a remake of the 2004 South Korean film. It aired on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:00 (KST) from August 28 to October 17, 2021. It's also available to watch on Netflix. The show was a commercial success and one of the highest-rated shows in cable television history. It ranked first for eight weeks, and the final episode received a 12.665 percent nationwide rating with over 3.2 million views. It also became one of Netflix's most-watched non-English television shows, as well as one of its longest-running hits, spending 16 weeks in the global top ten.
Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a), an intelligent and attractive city dentist, loses her job after rightly accusing the clinic's head doctor of overdoing patients' treatment for profit. She travels to Gongjin, an idyllic seaside village, where she meets jack-of-all-trades Hong Du-sik (Kim Seon-ho). Du-sik is well-liked in the village because he looks after the elders and is not afraid to take on odd jobs. By chance, the two people's paths cross several times, and they fall in love, while Du-sik constantly bails Hye-jin out of trouble. Kim Young-ok plays Kim Gam-ri, the leader of the grandmothers in Gongjin, in this film. In that poor fishing village, Mrs. Gam Ri took care of, worried about, and was also the spiritual fulcrum for the boy Doo Sik who lost his parents at a young age. What makes Mrs. Gam Ri special is that she is not related by blood to Doo Sik. But Mrs. Gam Ri helped not only Doo Sik but also moviegoers to be healed.
