Another Mattel subsidiary is Hot Wheels. Hot Wheels is a very popular toy car maker with sales of $244 million this year. Hot Wheels initially started making children's cars, but eventually entered the adult market and today makes incredibly detailed replicas of real limited-edition cars for adult collectors.

Hot Wheels is also a popular toy car manufacturer. The reason is that parent company Mattel is investing huge sums of money to get permission to build these cars, allowing them to access the original blueprints and create incredibly detailed toys.
