Huong Pagoda Festival

Huong Pagoda Festival is annually held at the scenic area of Huong Pagoda (or Huong Son) located in Huong Son commune, My Duc district, Hanoi. The Huong Pagoda Scenic Area is a cultural-religious complex consisting of dozens of Buddhist temples, a few temples worshiping the gods of communal houses, and agricultural beliefs. The center of the cluster of temples in this region is the Huong Pagoda located in the Huong Tich cave, also known as the Trong pagoda. This is a big festival held every year, attracting a large number of Buddhists from all over the country to participate in pilgrimage.


The Huong Pagoda Festival is not only an ordinary spring travel festival but also has great significance, imprinting the culture and beliefs of the North. The ceremony shows the worshiping beliefs of an overall religion in Vietnam including Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. While the festival is a combination of unique national culture with the beauty of nature, heaven and earth. Visitors come to the Perfume Pagoda festival not only to go to the supernatural and divine, but also to feel the harmony between people and nature, between people from different regions. Participating in the festival, visitors can not only offer incense to pray for peace, but also relief into the majestic nature and mountains imprinted with Buddha. You can also have a chance to experience unique ethnic cultural activities such as boating, mountain climbing, trying Cheo and Van melodies and so on.
