Illovo Sugar Africa
Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd, headquartered in South Africa, is the continent's largest sugar producer. From sugar cane supplied by its agricultural operations and independent producers that supply cane to Illovo's factories, the group manufactures raw and refined sugar for local, regional African, European Union (EU), United States, and global markets. It is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods Plc., which paid more than £400 million for 51% of the issued share capital in 2006.
Furfural and furfuryl alcohol, natural flavorings, high-quality ethyl alcohol, and lactulose products are available from Illovo Sugar Africa. Customers can reach them via address, phone, and online applications. It has substantial agribusiness operations in six African countries, making sugar and downstream goods from cane supplied by its agricultural operations and independent local growers.
Illovo Sugar Africa concentrates on selling a varied range of sugar products to its home markets and regional neighbors, as well as high sea exports of bulk and specialty sugars to long-standing international customers. Illovo also manufactures syrup as well as a variety of downstream goods such as furfural and furfuryl alcohol, natural flavorings, high-quality ethyl alcohol, and lactulose. The company aims to ensure reliable, cost-effective energy supply to all operations and, where economically feasible, to export power into the national grids of the countries in which it operates through its own internal electricity-generating capability, which uses bio-renewable boiler-feedstock such as cane fiber residue post extraction process.
