Sasol
Sasol Limited is a South African integrated energy and chemical business headquartered in Sandton. The company was founded in 1950 in Sasolburg, South Africa, and was based on technologies pioneered by German chemists and engineers in the early 1900s (see coal liquefaction). Sasol now develops and commercializes innovations, such as synthetic fuel technology, and produces various liquid fuels, chemicals, nuclear, coal tar, and electricity. It is South Africa's largest corporate taxpayer, one of the world's major coal mining companies and one of the largest manufacturing companies in South Africa.
