Students ages 16 to 19 at International School Altdorf adhere to the internationally recognized standards and methods overseen by the International Baccalaureate Organization® (IBO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Students must take courses from six subject groups to acquire an International Baccalaureate diploma. One from groups 1-5, plus one from group 6 or a substitute from another group.

Each student is required to take at least three topics at Higher Level HL and the rest of the subjects at Standard Level SL. Standard Level subjects require 150 teaching hours, whereas Higher Level subjects require 240 hours.
